Redeem United Miles Calculator

As I was doing a live report and for The South, I was unable to attend the award ceremony Mr and Miss Lock, this afternoon in Montreal. So Bertrand Hall, who wrote this report and Philippe Schnobb who provided the photograph. Coup 'So, it just happens, this blog :-)

Les lauréats des prix Cadenas. Miss à gauche (Monique Giroux, animatrice des Refrains d'abord à la radio) et Monsieur à droite (Philippe Schnobb, reporter dans la salle de nouveles tv de MTL)

Petit minutes of one afternoon impromptu ... With the complicity of the technique (we will not name names but thank you guys) and really without authorization, a small "stage" was erected improvised this afternoon on the terrace of the central door. The goal? Announce with great fanfare (or large sandals saw the radiant temperature) finalists and winners of the popular vote: "Miss and Mr. Padlock 2002." From
Mombreux former padlocked and sisters / brothers work attended the event awaited. Maryse Pagé and Bertrand Hall (supported by Marie-Christine Trottier promoted Miss discount medal in the absence of the designer of medals tell Penelope Garon) led masterfully / braid the gala before a crowd estimated by organizers at 25 ; 000 people and the security guard to nearly 200 ... First
highlight of this presentation: the second song of the co-president "The heart locked" which was very kindly welcomed by the audience more and more dense.
Then the parade of 20 nominees by popular vote (the Top Ten Girls Top Ten Guys) reveal itself of the opportunity to review close to reminding us all pretty faces extraordinary memories.
Finally, as the drum rolls, were finally revealed the winners of this prestigious but (hopefully) short-lived contest.

      MISS PADLOCKS 2002:
MONIQUE "LET'S DANCE ON THE STREET" GIROUX

While Mr. Lock expressed his desire that the fight continues within the various committees that are created, Ms. Lock stated that her "new husband" was, too, "tough" ... but nice!
The two have jointly decided to consider as the holder of the title until 2004 (date of renewal of the said collective agreement), hoping to still retain that title for life ... :-)
short of the opinion of many spectators, it was good to be back so soon after returning to work where the feelings are still (inevitably?) Mixed., Like what the "Mini-Wheat 'has much the future ahead of him ... BH

Retaliation?

Since Thursday, I heard two stories of colleagues who no longer occupies the position they held before the lockout. Coincidentally, these two individuals were very active in various union committees the past two months. First, I spoke by telephone Friday, does not that his case be leaked and prefers to work things out from inside.
The second is Jocelyn Desjardins, who has coordinated the organization, against all odds, the lockout evening of 6 May, an event that all participants have described as "historic." Here's the email he sent me Sunday night.

This morning at 9:00, I do not present myself at Radio-Canada to work.
Neither the next day or the next day also. And so on ... until next week.
The reason is simple. I am an insecure to information radio and on Sunday evening, I have not received any calls for a new assignment.
That puts me in a strange state you will understand.

I fought for two things: 1-
The holiday entitlement for the precarious
2-Reducing the number of days required to enter the recall list according to seniority of temporary.

Far be it from me to play in sentimentalism. I note only that may well have made substantial gains, insecurity remains what it is. Glaring, depressing, depressing.
Anyway for me, who already had eight years of service .... holiday not paid, I might have much in the coming days.

So this morning, when you find your jobs, think about the precarious radio or TV general information to those radio or TV, the precarious RCI Nordic Services if there is or those sectors Anglophones in Quebec and Moncton.
During the latest conflict, many have worked very precarious. They believed. After all, you did this battle inter alia for them, right?
Well this morning, many of them, is somehow a return to square one, to fend for itself. Thank

    anyway. Jocelyn Desjardins

Low Temperature During Chemotherapy

And now, what can you do?

Scores of people have expressed their desire to continue the discussion after the lockout, both to discuss the future of Radio-Canada to discuss relations work. To perform part of the reflection (and some only) on the Internet, three avenues are possible.

1. E-mail discussion group
can keep the e-mail discussion group established at the beginning of the conflict and invite a larger number of participants: not only members of the CRC, but also Radio-Canada 's Other unions, managers and even members of the public because they are the shareholders of the Company. There are still 358 subscribers, which means relatively few people would have unsubscribed from the end of the lockout.

Benefits: Simplicity. All communication is via email. Ability to share files, documents, conduct surveys, among others.
Disadvantages: Huge number of messages. Signal to Noise Ratio too low. English interface only. Intrusive advertising.

2. Collaborative blog
There are ways to be more to write in a blog like this.
I created a new We called Radio-Canada (not very attractive at the moment, but it was embellished). All those who feel the attack can be tested. Publish. Give yourself a ball!
Here's how to proceed. Visit the site Blogger and the bottom right, type in the box SIGN IN (rather SIGN UP) the following data:
    username: radio-canada
    password: rabinovitch

Advantages: Flexibility. Possibility to update wherever you are, at home or at work. Possibility of allowing multiple writers to contribute. Simplicity of the interface. Simplicity of the homepage.
Disadvantages : English interface only. One page. Advertising on top of the page (which can however get rid for $ 35 U.S. per year). Limit publication 100K per month (which can double to U.S. $ 3). Vulnerability to failures of service (Blogger and Blog * Spot are ultra-popular and somewhat victims of their success).

3. Media Collaborative
There is also a way to give a more robust tool blog.
With a tool called publishing system for internet sharing (SPIP) , it is possible for group to publish, share ideas, chat online, all on the same website.
I registered the domain name blog-out.com without really knowing what to do. Now that the conflict is over, we all (all union employees, managers, listeners and viewers) we used to debate.
If you visit http://blogue-out.com/ you arrive at a new site tentatively called [after the lockout] , a site graphically regular (again, it's getting better) .

It is divided into 4 sections:
- one for discuss the future of the CBC as public broadcaster
- a second to talk about working conditions
- a third to make any announcements
- a final for subjects not covered by the other three

As with Avenue "collaborative blog", you are invited to test yourself what would your participation in this collaborative medium. Publish them what you want yet. This is a test. Everything will be cleared in due course if this avenue is chosen.
Here's how to proceed. Visit the publication interface and in the window that appears superimposed on your screen, type the following information:
    username or username : radio-canada
    password or password : rabinovitch

Advantages: Flexibility of implementation pages. New sections can be created at will. No ads.
Disadvantages: Interface of publication not easy to grasp at first. The domain "blog-out.com" will become a strange time. Only "Administrators" may authorize the publication of content (but bypassing it by making people more serious the "Directors"). Accommodation costs twenty dollars (14 € plus taxes) per month.

order not to scatter, it is obvious that it must choose one of these three tools (although e-mail discussion group can remain active forever ), or even determine that none of these tools would be useful for future work. This will be your feedback that will determine this election. Until then, blog-Out will be gradual phasing-out .

Ver Pelicula The Libertine

An effect of the lockout?

internal release of Radio-Canada fell yesterday (Friday) at 15:44.
Checking in the band by RDS, the company loses hockey next season. Is it a result of this brilliant lockout? If so, will those who had the idea to make "talk" in the locker room.

SRC INTENDS TO THE MAXIMUM FOR PRESERVING THE TRADITION OF THE HOCKEY NIGHT

As you may have read in this morning's Journal de Montreal, the management of the Club de Hockey Canadien, together with NHL wants its games are presented to a single network, ie, RDS next season.
This decision would mean a First, the ghettoization of Canadiens games on a network accessible only via cable and, secondly, the end of a tradition of half a century of loyalty among viewers, Radio-Canada and Canadian Montreal. The current situation we are disappointed and surprised us both. There are only a few weeks, we had a verbal agreement with the Canadian who met all their expectations and met the financial requirements and programming of a network of state general as ours.
We recently learned with astonishment that the offer was rejected and the preferred direction of the Canadian wanted a single network.
Be assured that we will make every effort to preserve the tradition of Hockey Night in our antenna, the oldest Canadian television program, and offer to all people, from coast to coast, the possibility of watch the games free of tricolor. Moreover, Minister of Canadian Heritage, the Honourable Sheila Copps, was aware of the threat presently on the future of Hockey Night .
We will keep you informed of developments surrounding this issue, which will certainly much attention in the coming weeks.
Daniel Gourd, Executive Director of Programs (French Television)

Pierre Michaud, an editor at Information Center, took some pictures a few hours after I unlocked the CDI: "It is rare that I am so glad to get up at 3:30 in the morning, wrote it in an email. Everyone seemed happy to be back. "Some images from the first wave of ex-lockout.

Le sous-sol du lockout désert...

A message from Marie-Hélène Poirier, host of the first radio station, yesterday, on the group email discussion, inspired me to make a final visit, comprehensive and final local lockout.

À recycler

Here's what she had written:
The most striking: the silence! A shock to the memory and imagination! I felt like a scene from the film by Ettore Scola, Le Bal . All these shades, colorful yet, these faces, these tables loaded with pizza and bagels and rows of chairs inlined for our information meetings, when the hall was packed ... The signs stacked become useless ... ... Pictures of us, mixed up in bundles of leaflets. An old gray wool sweater. And our PETITION! someone wrote on the top of the stack: "Find the famous names." Thrilling moment! * Sigh ...*

Brigitte Bougie

In kitchens, Brigitte Bougie, an official of the food committee, made a last household. Brigitte is one of many worker ants of the lockout, which has worked in the shadows, hard, cooking soups, cakes, lark. When I think back to what she did, and applied to the solidarity of hundreds of locked, I found almost a shame it's over.

Il faut encore montrer patte blanche

In fact, this is not quite yet. To enter the large tower of Radio-Canada, we must also show their credentials. Members CISC are still excluded. Michel Lacombe, who has a program to prepare for Saturday, wanted to come yesterday morning. Scandal. Four guards, it seems, have had to leave. At least they are no longer those of Kolossal.

At the door, a note explains that this ridiculous exclusion is a matter of hours ...

Minuit ce soir, Michel!

If You Have Dislexyia Can You Join The Airforce

Some pictures of the final meeting to conclude

Bienvenue dans l'arrondissement Anjou
This time, in Anjou, bucolic borough of Montreal is that everything went smoothly.

Mélanie Bourgeois
In the corridors of the so-called "Convention Center" Renaissance (complex partys wedding instead), people have discovered the contents of the negotiation of the night between employers commando (Composed of Hamelin and Jean Michel Fradette, Human Resources staff of RC and Thierry Beriault, counsel for the Company) and the band union met yesterday in the wee hours at the Complexe Guy-Favreau (these last-second stages but have to also started around 2am and ended at 11:23). Nine and a half hours of talks to define a "Schedule V" and tie offers a protocol for returning to work.
In the famous "Annex V," there was nothing new contract offered to television and radio general, although they had asked the committee stages but to pick up hotlines for them too at the meeting last week in Laval. But realizing that the CBC had offered anything they do, the members were somewhat concerned by the turn of this meeting. "Everything is for people with information. It'll [the makers of the TV and RDIO general] to piss off even more, "said my colleague Melanie Bourgeois TV News.

Simon Dallaire
In the "Annex V" (details on the official site Radio-Canada as negotiations , RC particularly committed to "support its employees in the desire to grow professionally within the society ". It seeks in particular to prevent people from being forced to resign from Radio-Canada (losing seniority and benefits) to change jobs within the CBC.
Except that this commitment does not solve the problem of Simon Dallaire, a former
Race became assistant director. There is an aberration in our union. We group the assistant directors. But when they, like Simon, want to become directors, they should resign because they change their union affiliation. Simon asked if the "Schedule V" was the way to avoid resign from Radio-Canada to become a director. Our union representatives was told that, unfortunately, no. Air Simon says a lot about the way he has welcomed the news.

Pierre Tousignant, confiant de fumer un cigare d'ici la fin de la journée
Still, at progressively advanced by the meeting, "applaudissomètre" allowed for a trend in favor of accepting these offers retouched.
We learned also that through the mediation of Gérald Larose, former president of the CSN, which both parties could agree to begin a final sprint through the night.
Pierre Tousignant, a journalist in Sherbrooke, had brought an opportunity for Habanero Montecristo. It would soon turn since late afternoon, bids were accepted by 694 votes (69.1%) against 302 (30.0%) and 9 abstentions (0.9%).

Michel Couturier recevant les félicitations du comité de négos
At the announcement of these results were clearer than those of a Quebec referendum, all the cameras converged on the platform where the union executive seemed relieved that the conflict is finally resolved.
The Executive and the committee stages but had recommended acceptance of bids. But union representatives, themselves, were more divided: 26 for and 11 against, a proportion heralding the end result.

Marie-France Bazzo après l'annonce du résultat
But before converging towards the stage too, I was at the back of the room, close to Marie-France Bazzo and his team, on which the vote had the effect a cold shower. Marie-France set to hold the festivities of the executive in consternation.
Before the meeting, she retouched jeering bids that do absolutely nothing to team members who continue to be rented humans. "The famous lump sum payment of one thousand dollars, she gave as an example, well most of my research there will because they were not entitled to the use of Radio-Canada on June 18. They were between two contracts. "To those who said they wanted to return to Radio-Canada with their anger, she replied:" Try it, you, a contract for 39 weeks, to express your anger at a boss. Tries, see. "

Daniel Carrière Yahoo!
The northern service colleagues also found the water spout. Except that most members had "solidarity with Earth," as Sophie Langlois said. The new collective agreement many people forget. But the unique solidarity experienced during this conflict allows me to believe that the next negotiation (in just two years!), they will not be forgotten either. That
voted for or against these offers, I think the general feeling is expressed by Daniel Carriere, fellow journalist on TV: "We had a great you? YEAH! There are you happy it's over? YEAH! "

Koceila a pris le micro au show des Deadlock. Eric Plouffe a la batterie et Pierre-Marcel Veilleux a la basse en background
In the evening, a show of thunder and deadlock came to a ton of bricks on the cake. In the tiny dance floor bar St-Laurent-2, dozens of "for" and "cons" have danced together until 2 am.
